The Karnival Mesra Anak Muda better known as KAMU specially catered for youngsters to bring about their aspirations and creativity as well showcase the young generations” potential, is back for the third time.
The event will be held from September 6 to 8 at Indera Mulia Stadium and will be officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The objective of the carnival which is organised by the state government is to provide a platform to bring together youngsters and to promote young entrepreneurs and technology apart from enhancing social and environmental awareness.
State Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah said, ” the carnival is not just an entertainment but to offer guidance and also build networking for the youths to achieve their dreams and vision.
“Several activities will be held including a football competition for players from the Orang Asli community which is being organised for the first time.
“Another attraction will be the job fair where we are targeting 10,000 job vacancies to be filled A.total of 60 companies and agencies are participating ranging from manufacturing, services, hotels and factories,”he told reporters here on August 29.
Also present were Menteri Besar’s Political Secretary Mohamad Hamidi Baharuddin and People Of Remarkable Talent (PORT) General Manager Nur Hanim Mohamed Khairuddin.
A free hair cutting session will be given to the first 1,000 visitors.
Both of these events are organised by Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK).
Khairudin also noted the target for this year’s carnival is 400,000 compared to 300,000 last year.
Various activities are in store for visitors among them sports competitions, mini wall climbing, music, poetry and songs.
In organising KAMU 2024, the organisers had received the cooperation of government departments and agencies.
Among them are Ipoh City Council, People of Remarkable Talent (PORT), State Agriculture Development Corporation (SADC), MB Inc, Perak Water Board, Empayar Indera and Puncak Emas Infra with technical support from Aero, Tricord and Rising Net.
