The Minister of Housing and Local Government, YB Nga Kor Ming officiated the new lifts and the community Fire Brigade at the Kinta Heights Flats.
Also present was Canning assemblywoman YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen who is also the deputy speaker at the Perak State Assembly along with Ipoh Mayor Datoumaizi Baharin.
Some 300 residents at the flats also attended the ceremony.
Among the programmes for the events for the day was an exhibition by the Fire department and the Information Department.
A fire drill was also carried out in readiness for emergency response.
The Ipoh City Council hopes that the community at the Kinta Heights benefit from the project.
