Adventure seekers are in for a tough and rough extreme sports path when they participate in the Lenggong Ironbound Expedition A1 Asia World Cup 2024 which  starts from November 22 to 25 in Lenggong. 

The 30 teams participating are from Malaysia, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Philippines, India and UK. 

The event is organised by Akademi Orienteering Malaysia with the cooperation and support of Perak State Government, Tourism Malaysia, Lenggong Tourism Council, Tourism Perak and Lenggong District Council. 

Malaysia has been chosen as the venue to host to represent the Asian continent.

The expedition has been sanctioned by the World Obstacle Federation – FISO (USA). 

There are two categories, 12 hours non stop which  covers a distance of 100km and 48 hours non stop expedition where participants have to complete a distance of 250km.

The various disciplines include Trail Running, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, High Roping (abseiling), River Traversing, Jungle Navigation and Caving. 

Lenggong MP Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah who launched the expedition said,” “this is an opportunity to promote  Lenggong as a UNESCO Heritage site and National Geopark.”

Lenggong has a unique landscape for extreme sports like rivers, lakes, hills and caves.
