Perak State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi hailed the success of improving the living standards of the local community through tourism activities.
She highlighted the example of Taiping as a good example where the tourism attractions there have benefitted with the state going into Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
“The Taiping Zoo and Night Safari has attracted some 200,000 visitors based on records gathered.
“These are good signs for economic recovery and I believe it will continue as long as we practise the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Hotel accommodation is also well taken up by these visitors,” she added.
In the meantime, she also added that Taiping is the Semi-Regional Center and functions as a Heritage City with outstanding treasures in the state.
