The newly elected committee of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (Perak Chapter) led by their chairman, Vincent Ee paid a courtesy call on the State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, YB Dato Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi recently.
The visit was to update the Exco on the latest developments in the hospitality industry in view of the reopening of interstate and international borders and upsurge in tourists.
The occasion also served to introduce the new office bearers for the 2022/2025 term.
Ee is also the general manager of the Flemington Hotel in Taiping.
Dato Nolee in congratulating the new term also shared the importance of the tourism sector to the state’s economy.
Among the office bearers who were present were vice chairman, Tony Wong, Secretary, Kenn Chahm, Treasurer, Cheong Kee Wang, Muhamad Hairil Kumaradas, Dini Azima Mohamed Masum, Philip Choong and Tharamarajah Thangavelu (Rajah).
“Our members are currently experiencing an improved occupancy level after the reopening of borders and also due to the various tourism promotions carried out by the state government.
“We sincerely appreciate their efforts in promoting the various destinations in the Silver State,” added Ee to Ipoh Hyperlocal.
Other than Ipoh City, among the popular tourist destinations in Perak are the Pangkor Island and Taiping town.
