Some 500 people converged to Masjid Muhammadiah (Masjid
Cina) at Taman Tasek Jaya here to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on April 27.
It was co-organised by the mosque, Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) Ipoh Branch,Persatuan India Muslim Perak (PRIM) and Persatuan Masyarakat Muslim Tasek (PMMT), Ipoh .
It is the second such mosque in the country after Kelantan’s Masjid Jubli Perak Sultan Ismail Petra.
MACMA chairman Datuk Dr Fadzli Cheah Abdullah said :”This time we were supported by PRIM, PMMT to host the event.
“Unlike in the past where the Perak Religious Department and the mosque held the celebrations, this time around two NGOs joined us,”said Dr Fadzli who is also the mosque committee chairman.
Present was PRIM chairman Mohamed Arib Aliah and members of PMMT.
Apart from the people enjoying the various delicacies at 15 stalls ,they were also entertained by songs .
Some of the attendance brought food (pot luck) to the event. A slide show on the mosque activities was also screened.
A free eye check up was also held followed by a lucky draw too.
The organisers also gave away duit raya to children.
