Media practitioners in Ipoh were honoured and recognised for their daily job and tasks at the Media Flora Nite 2023 organised by Ipoh City Council at Lost World of Tambun on Friday.
It was an event for journalists and photographers to get together and also mingle with the Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud, councillors and council officers.
Some 80 Media representatives came in with their best flora attire in line with the theme of “Flora Nite”.
Some of them also tried their hand to belt out their favourite songs.
Lucky winners also went home with attractive prizes.
Rumaizi paid tribute to the media whom he referred to as “media family” and expressed his happiness to be with them in the meaningful event.
He hopes the close cooperation and rapport with the council by the media will continue with the role played by both parties to achieve the objective of making Ipoh City as Bandaraya Bestari Sejahtera.
The event organised by the council’s Strategic Communication Unit is to entertain and recognise the contribution by the media which had published the programmes and policies of the council which is to benefit the residents.
Rumaizi noted the publicity including news reports and pictures by the media had touched the hearts of those in the city..
