Armed with a brand new fleet of 23 lorries for bulk waste collection, Ipoh folks can be rest assured that their neighbourhood will be more tidy and clean.
The Ipoh City Council spent RM3,668,500 for the purchase.
During the launching ceremony of horse lorries, Ipoh City mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin said that the council can now carry out clearing of rubbish and garbage.
“For the time being, the trucks will be used to overcome the disrupted garbage collection in the city.
“They will also help overcome the problem of illegal dumping to maintain the city’s cleanliness,” said Rumaizi.
The council has also installed a total of 103 signboards on the service schedule throughout Ipoh.
They also requested items like tree branches and twigs to be cut short, arranged and tied tightly. As for furniture, it must first be broken into small pieces, then arranged and tied tightly.
