Ipoh City Council in recognising the contribution of their retired employees were feted and entertained to a function at Casuarina Meru here yesterday night. (Feb 13).
The event was held in conjunction with Jasamu Dikenang 2024 for 89 pensioners and next of kin .
Council’s Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak represented the mayor to grace the occasion.
Also present were Councillors Chief Whip Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman,Wong Kar Keat, Council’s PUSPANITA Chairman Datin Siti Faeza Mohd Noor, councillors, senior directors and heads of departments.
Among them are 62 employees who had reached the mandatory age,18 went on optional retirement, four retired due to health reasons and five had passed away.
Ahmad Munir in his speech said:”The event was held to appreciate the dedication and commitment of the pensioners to the council .
“Their sacrifices cannot be valued with a meal but a recognition for their services which placed the council among the best local authorities with five star status.
“The council thanks the retirees and those who have passed away for their services which will be an inspiration and example for serving employees, “he added.
