The Ipoh City Council won a commendable second placing in the local councils category rating in the country.
They scored a total 98.25 in their ranking and a 5-star status for year 2022 performance.
On hand to present the awards was the Minister of Local Government Development, YB Nga Kor Ming.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC). The event was organised by the Ministry of Local Government Development.
Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin received the award on behalf of the Ipoh City Council.
Rumaizi gave due credit to the staff and head of departments for the recognition.
He hoped that the award would encourage and motivate the council’s workers even to greater heights.
Ipoh City Council hopes to be a benchmark for other local councils in the country.
