Meet real tigers this Year of the Tiger at the Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) this Chinese New Year.
Two new tigers that have been brought in from the Sungkai Wildlife Conservation Center are on display at their Tiger Valley.
The tigers which are named Dana and Jewel are more significant as this Chinese New Year signifies the Year of the Tiger in the lunar calendar.
The tigers have been brought in with the cooperation of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Perak to ensure the “Harimau Malaya” population does not go extinct.
Presently there are already two tigers, namely Jazz and Charlie at the Tiger Valley.
The loaned tigers are on a long-term loan without any specific duration, with the condition that they must be well taken care of well.
“All of the tigers are getting on well and we have our own team of veterinarians and care keepers to look after them,” said general manager of LWOT Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari.
Meanwhile, he also added that they have lined up a wide range of activities in CNY.
Among them include reunion activities, feasts and BBQ in an open environment. There will also be lion dances and distribution of ang pau and mandarin oranges.
