Some 3,500 city residents participated in the Ipoh Low Carbon Day along with the National Day Parade by 300 children from Persatuan TASKA Perak accompanied by their parents and teachers on August 25.
A total of 20 institutions also took part in keeping with the theme Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka to make the programme a success held for the 72nd time.
The event this time around made it more merrier with the attendance of the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) which organised the NASAM charity run Step Forward For Stroke 2024 with the participation of 200 runners.
Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud flagged off the participants.
The run was divided into two categories, stroke survivors and caregivers with a distance of 1km and Ipoh City residents and outsiders above 12 years old completed the 3km race in the open section.
Among the activities were a Jalur Gemilang attire competition for children and educators and Creative Strollers for toddlers aged up to three under Persatuan Taska Perak.
Those who attended the event were Persatuan Taska Perak exco members, Nafizah Abd Malik, Shuhaidawati Idayu Mohd Anis, Mazlen Che Mohd Nor and NASAM General Manager, Monica Geraldine Gayondato.
