Newly appointed Perak MIC Chairman, Tan Sri M. Ramasamy has vowed to solve problems and issues faced by traders at Little India with Deepavali around the corner.

Ramasamy who was appointed as the chairman 50 days ago visited the traders and shops to get the feedback from the business community.

“I have received complaints from them and will bring up the matter with party President (Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran) and his Deputy (Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, ” he told reporters after the visit.

According to him, the problems are not serious and we are confident it will be solved.

Among the problems is the financial difficulties faced by the Little India Traders Association.

Association President T. Vignes Thillai who was present said:”The Deepavali sales will begin on Oct 17 to 30 with the last five days shoppers will be entertained to  cultural shows. 

“The association hopes that all involved will support us in organising the event,”he added. 

Meanwhile Perak Gold Shop Entrepreneurs Association President Datuk Amaludin Mohamed Ismail said,” I will have a discussion with the shop owners on ways to help the association. “

A total of 96 stalls will be set up to sell various Deepavali items including  cookies, clothing, jewellery, sweets, snacks and home decorations.
