For the very first time,Yayasan Pembangunan Pendidkan India Negeri Perak presented exercise and note books to 11,700 pupils from 134 SJK (T schools) in Perak.
Yayasan board member K. Nachemutu said:”The book aid will benefit all pupils rather than cash which will only help 750 pupils.
“This year the total cost was RM170,000,” he added.

In the past two years RM200 was given to each pupil totalling 1,501 children with a cost of RM300,200.
On Feb 22, 50 pupils from five schools received the books from Human Resources, Health, National Integration and Indian Affairs Committee Chairman S.Sivanesan at an event held at Dewan Serbaguna, State Secretariat Building here.
They include Preschool, Primary Level 1 and 2.
The schools from Ipoh are SJK (T) Kerajaan, SJK (T) Methodist, SJK (T) St Philomena, SJK (T) Perak Sangeetha Sabah and SJK (T) Chettiars.
Also present at the Yayasan’s board of directors, Prof Datuk Dr N.S. Rajendra, Nachemutu M.Aruchunan, S.Munuyandi,S.Thillainathan and S.Palany.
Earlier the books were sent to all schools before the start of the term.
