Inview of global warming and depletion of forests -the Sathya Sai Organisation of Ipoh Centre organised a tree planting ceremony.
They chose a specific no of 99 samplings of trees to commemorate and celebrate the 99th birthday of their guru and revered spiritual teacher – Swami Sathya Sai Baba who had passed away in 2011 at age 84
The project started on Nov 7th and ended on Saturday Nov 24 to mark the official birthday of Sathya Sai Baba.
Saplings of flower and fruit plants were sourced by contributions from the members of the organisation along with several localĀ and overseas well-wishers.
To reflect Malaysia’s multiracial communities the saplings were planted in Tamil, Chinese schools, temple grounds and also at a mosque.
With the permission of the local council, some samplings were also planted in public areas.
Several participating schools saw the cooperation of students, teachers and parents.
