In conjunction Earth Day celebrations, the Perak State Exco for Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology, Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin said the state will always ensure a clean and green environment.
Present at a ceremony to mark global Earth Day was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin, Kinta District Officer, Meor Hezbullah Meor Abd Malik, Director of State Department of Environment, Rosli Zul, Deputy Director-General of PLANMalaysia, Hassan Yaakob among others.
In line with this aim the state government has created the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan.
Among the plans are to also take good care of the river trails of Perak River to curb pollution and flooding.
“We also encourage the local community and residents to do their bid in this noble effort. To achieve this goal, we need to provide more education for them to appreciate nature, ” said Mohd Akmal.
A simple ceremony at the D.R. Seenivasagam Recreational Park marked the state level celebrations for World Earth Day (April 22) recently.
The VIP guests later performed a show of support by disposing of electronic waste and releasing baby fish into the surrounding ponds. at the park
