Perak is soon expected to penetrate the consumer market in this region by  participating in the Consumer Fair and Trade Expo 2025 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas, Brunei Darussalam from June 25 to 29.

Ten entrepreneurs from the state under the management of Sekretariat Usahawan Negeri Perak (STeP) would take part in the expo with the value of products worth RM700,000.

Eight others will also participate in the expo on their own expenses. The products range from food, drinks, health and beauty and handicrafts.

State Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee Chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun said”: the expo with business matching, follow-up orders ànd distribution in the long run is expected to hit the RM1 million mark.

“The statistics project the potential export market which is growing for  the Perak entrepreneurs’ products to Brunei.

“The various similarities between the Sultanate and Perak including culture, taste buds of consumers and language opens a big potential market for the states’ products,” he added.

Later, he flagged off a symbolic truck of products for the expo together with State Women Development, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee Chairman Datuk Salbiah Mohamed.

The participants also received various guidance, aid to develop products and certification from the relevant agencies in preparation for the expo.

Meanwhile Salbiah said”: this is a follow-up of an earlier group of individuals who had  participated in a trade expo on their own accord.

“They came back to inform us of the potential market and the demand  for Perak products in Brunei.

“Brunei is a new market for the state and we are going in for the first time,” she added.
