After many delays and hiccups, the iconic Ipoh Padang in the heart of the “town that tin built”, saw the launch of the sound and lights attraction.
Present was Perak Menteri Besar Dato Seri Saarani Mohamad along with State Secretary, Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin.
Dubbed the Ipoh Heritage Tourism Project (IHT) it is aimed at offering a more diverse selection of attractions for visitors to Ipoh.
Rays of bright lights accompanied by music can be witnessed every night at the Padang.
“IHT was put together with the collaboration of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and the Ipoh City Council with a budget of RM11 million. Among the other interesting features are the history and culture of Perak and also of Datuk Lat , our very own cartoonist,” said Saarani.
