A freak storm which lashed across Meru housing community and surrounding areas on Tuesday has caused vast damage to homes and property.

Making a quick visit to the site was Perak Menteri Besar Dato Seri Saarani Mohamad and his team to assess the situation.

He also pledged support for the homes while the Ipoh City Council deployed their quick response teams to clear the trees and other rubbish which had been deposited by the storm.

Saarani also added that the various departments concerned will conduct the feasibility study to overcome the issues faced by the residents there due to the storm.

He also presented a RM300 cash aid package to the affected residents there.

“Our immediate focus is to replace the damaged roof in this area,” he added.
