Some 20,000 people converged on Indera Mulia Stadium to attend the state level Hari Raya Open House yesterday (March 31).

It was graced by Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.

Others who attended were Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and Raja Di Hilir Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah.

They were welcomed by Menteri Besar PerakĀ  Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, state executive councillors and other dignitaries.

Local Government Minister YB Nga Kor Ming also attended the function.

Orphans from Vision Home,Pertubuhan Pengurusan Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin Anning, Pertubuhan Badan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Darussalam and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Sultan Abdul Aziz, Kuala Kangsar received duit raya from the royal couple.

Guests were entertained to cultural dances and songs by various groups.

The guests enjoyed a variety of food like rendang,puri,lemang,satay, apam balik and drinks.

Meanwhile in his speech, Saarani said:” on this auspicious day the people should revive the spirit of togetherness.

“Incidents had disrupted national unity and this had led to suspicions and distrust.

“We have to work together and every Malaysian  has a responsibility to ensure sincerity, mutual understanding and respect,”he added.
