Residents in Kg. Sg. Rokam, Medan Lapangan Sentosa and Desa Perwira here received their rubbish bins from Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin earlier today.
This time around some 918 rubbish bins were distributed in keeping with the council’s aspirations to keep Ipoh the cleanest city.
“Also present was Ipoh City Council secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and community members.
As directed the bins should be placed in front of their homes for easy collection by service providers. The refuse should also be packed in plastic bags.
“This is the message we want to send to the general public to maintain a clean and healthy environment. Please do not hang your rubbish bags on fences and trees,” said Datuk Rumaizi.
Some 130,000 rubbish bins are expected to be given out to housing and residential areas over the next five years.
