A total of 27 people with walking disabilities received walking sticks thanks to Rotary Club of Greentown under their Project Mobility and with the support of Royal Ipoh Club at the club’s premises here recently.
The generous gesture will help the recipients who face mobility challenges and are unable to move around without aid.
Project chairman and past president P. Uithayakumar said 500 walking sticks were sponsored by Past District Governor Datuk Jimmy Lim.
The sticks were presented to those in need by the clubs in Perak.
Ipoh has five Rotary Clubs.
“We identified the recipients through NGOs, orphanages and friends.
“It is our hope that this small gesture brings comfort, independence, dignity to their daily lives,” he added.
Uithayakumar thanked Royal Ipoh Club President Hari Krishnan for his unwavering support and collaboration in making Project Mobility a meaningful success.
He also commended Past District Governor Datuk Bindi Rajasegaran whose support has further strengthened this effort.
