Team Egypt pulled off a surprise against high flying South Africa when they won by a 3-0 margin.
Being 2 nil up by halftime, the teams from the African continent were going head to head in the second half.
Against the flow of the game, again Egypt went 3-0 up and held on till the end of the match.
Meanwhile, Malaysia and Pakistan met at the do or die game to draw 1-1.
Pakistan coach Aikman Siegfried shared that they dominated the game and should have won the game.
“We are a young team and we can challenge higher ranking teams,” he said at the press conference.
“We played well despite the loss in the first game. I am happy with the performance today,” he added.
As a consolation, the Man-of-the-Match award went to Malaysian goalkeeper, Othman Haffizuddin
He had made a total of 21 saves throughout the match.
Meanwhile, Malaysian coach Anthoni Arul expressed his satisfaction on the performance of his charges in the game.
Earlier, in the second game of the day, Korea beat Japan by a solitary goal. Despite several counter attacks by Japan, they could not find the equalizer.
With two wins in their bag, Japan is well on their way to top the table.
