Heavy downpour played havoc at the game between Malaysia and South Africa.
After only 13 minutes of play in the first quarter, the game had to be stopped due to heavy rain. At this juncture, South Africa had taken the lead through a fast counter attack.
As the relentless rain continued, the technical director decided to postpone the game. The game will be continued on Sunday (Nov 6) at 5pm which was initially listed to be a rest day.
Earlier, Japan took on Pakistan in the opening game.
The speedy Pakistani team went 2 up by halftime. Both goals were scored by Muhammad Sufyan Khan.
Again dut due to the downpour play was slightly delayed for the restart.
As Japan mounted pressure on the Pakistan defence, they managed to pull a goal back. Consecutively they scored a second goal the even the result at 2-2.
The second match of the day saw Egypt taking on Korea which ended in a scoreless draw.
