In honour of the late Tan Sri G.Rajoo who was the Perak MIC chairman and state executive councillor for his contribution and services to the state and country, a soccer tournament was held on April 20.
The nine-a-side competition organised by MIC Ipoh Barat Division with the cooperation of the Kelab Sukan Komuniti Ipoh Friday’s Perak was played at Ipoh Padang.
Organising Chairman S.Jayagopi said:” this is to express our gratitude and thanks to the leader who had immensely assisted the rakyat during his term of office.”
Rajoo’s family members were also present throughout the tournament.
The trophies were sponsored by the division.
KSR Tasek “B” emerged champion in the 16 team competition .They went home with RM3,000, medals and certificates.
KSR Tasek “A” took runners-up spot and received RM2,000 trophy, medals and certificates.
Third place went to MIC Ipoh Timor Division (Suria FC) and Vasanthan Brothers ended in fourth position.
The teams each received RM750, medals and certificates.Other teams received participation certificates.
The tournament was kicked off by Perak MIC chairman and party’s National Vice President Tan Sri M.Ramasamy while the closing ceremony was officiated by MIC Vice President Datuk M.Asojan
According to Jayagopi who is also MIC Ipoh Barat Division Chairman the tournament will be an annual event.
