Ipoh City Council received a delegation from Songkhla UNESCO Creatively City headed by Songkhla Mayor Wanchai Parinyasiri on Feb 13.
They were received by Council’s Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, Councillor Datuk Ahmad Hariri Kamarudin, Focal Point Ipoh Creative City Representative Nathalie Henry and Syed Zarul Hisham from People of Remarkable Talent (PORT).
The visit is aimed at celebrating the creativity spirit, cooperation and innovation which is the core for UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Through the joint commitment, this visit stresses on the importance of culture as not just an entertainment but a main foundation for developing inclusive community,dynamic and resilience.
The main point of discussion during the visit is the continuity of every city which has received UNESCO recognition to build and maintain cultural and creativity aspects.
The delegation also exchanged views and proposals on strategies, policies and suggestions to develop ideas which will have a positive impact in the future.
It is hoped the visit will strengthen and enhance the relationship between the two cities with the view to explore cooperation for joint development projects in the future.
