Some 265 pupils of SJKT Mahathma Gandhi Kalasalai,Sungai Siput had their eyes checked by OPTIMAX Eye Specialist Centre Ipoh yesterday.
The free check up which lasted from 9am to 12pm also included spectacles for those who needed it.
Educational, Welfare & Research Foundation Malaysia (EWRF) Sungai Siput branch chairman Novinthen Krishnan said:”We also took the opportunity to give a talk on the importance of taking precaution and protection of their eyes.
“It is vital for the pupils academic performance and well being of the pupils as a whole.
“It is one of our initiatives to continue supporting the health aspects and education of youngsters so that they will not drop out due to poor eye sight which goes undetected,”he added.
