With the fasting month currently underway and the Hari Raya celebrations around the corner, the Ipoh City Council along with several corporate citizens carried out a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project over the weekend.
Supporting the commendable charity project was Econsave Jelapang.
In all, some 70 children from poor or orphaned communities received new clothes to celebrate Hari Raya in style.
Ipoh City Council’s public relations officer, Mohd Syahrizal Azmi was on hand at the presentation ceremony.
“This is the seventh occasion which we have organised with the assistance of Econsave, Perak Media Sports and the Welfare Club,” said Syahrizal.
The children were from Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim Al-Harraz and Pertubuhan Baitul Aini Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Ipoh.
After choosing their new clothings, the children were also treated to a break of fast at The Haven All Suite Resort in Tambun.
Representing Econsave Jelapang was their branch manager, Effendy Rosman and Econsave Northern Region 2 general manager, Chua Yang Chiang.
