Housing and Local Government Minister, YB Nga Kor Ming, officiated the tree planting and plaque signing ceremony held at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreational Park recently.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) project was sponsored by Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd who graciously donated the trees.
Also present was Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, state assemblywoman for and Kwan Boon Dat, executive director of Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd.
A total of 1500 trees were sponsored by Wei Dat Steel Wire Sdn Bhd.
In his address Nga called upon more corporations to follow the example of Wei Dat Steel Wire as part of their CSR projects.
This is the second year Wei Dat Steel Wire is sponsoring trees as they contributed some 200 trees last year in Menglembu.
