In conjunction with World Earth Day an Environmental Sustainability Program was launched at Eco Park 1, Bandar Seri Botani here on April 27.
The event is an initiative by the developer, Pinji Botanics Sdn Bhd together with Institute of Landscape Architect Malaysia (ILAM) with logistics provided by Ipoh City Council.
The collaboration is aimed at enhancing awareness among the local community towards maintaining the environment and practice of sustainability in daily lives.
Among the activities held at the event are Bamboo Art Sculpture competition which showcase the skill and creativity of the participants from higher institutes of education by utilising bamboo as a material sourced from nature in line with the principle of restoration of natural resources.
Planting of shade trees was carried out by guests and participants as a symbolic event of earth restoration efforts and joint commitment to maintain a balanced ecosystem.
It is to project the aspiration of making a conducive and well being city green for the future generation.
The program is a platform to strengthen cooperation between public, private,sectors and community to ensure sustainable development in the city.
The event was officially closed by the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry’s Deputy Secretary General (Management) Norasham Abdul Latip who represented the Minister .
