Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ipoh city centre is the fine boutique hotel, 1969 Business Suites.@ Bandar Botani.
The housing and commercial vicinity features the cosy hotel along with their award-winning CawanMu restaurant which offers fine local and international cuisine.
The 1969 Business Suites offers 46 tastefully decorated rooms in a modern theme.which will surely delight guests.
Meanwhile, the CawanMu Restaurant also offers a myriad of Malaysian and fusion cuisine.
Make sure to try out their lamb shank biryani, Hainanese chicken chop, burgers, satay, and other delectable Ipoh dishes.(Take it from the writer as they say “proof of the pudding is in the eating”).
And if you are a good eater, the portions will more than suffice.
Other dishes include their Nasi Lemak Hujan, Nasi Lemak Pandan, Ayam Berampah, Ayam Masak Merah, Udang Galah with Prawn Chili Sauce, Traditional Ayam Penyet, Oxtail Soup, Lamb Brisket Soup, Homey Mushroom Soup, Dry Prawn Mee, Assam Laksa, Ipoh Curry Mee, Mee Mamak among other delicious choices.
Another of their outlets is the PastryMu for health conscious diners. Other facilities include the Fitness Studio, Lounge, Business Lounge, Free shuttle service among others conveniences. Diners have a choice of being seated in the cosy alfresco area or their interior seating areas.
They also made it into the Malaysia Book of Records for creating their lobby wall with 53,592 one cent coins.
Another recent feat was when they were recognised for the “Toilet Of The Year Award” (TOTYA) 2023 in a competition organised by the Local Government Development Ministry through the Local Government Department
The win for the CawanMu Restaurant also came with a cash award of RM10,000, certificate and a plaque in the restaurant category.

Meanwhile, the group also runs the 1969 Business Suites De Garden in Ipoh Garden.
“Our major project will be the new 1969 Datin Kelly Premium Collection which is in construction and set to be ready by early 2024.
“The 5-star 1969 Datin Kelly Premium Collection will be a game changer for Ipoh City as it will feature the latest technology for the comfort and privacy of guests,” said Tony Wong who is also the Chief Building & Architect cum Designer.
It should be noted that Wong is also the chairman of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Perak Chapter.
“In the meantime, we are also set to introduce the first cantilevered swimming pool at the hotel. This feature is something new to Ipoh and we are confident that our guests will surely enjoy it,” added Ian Chua, chief executive officer (Hotel and F&B) .
The management has set a target to have an inventory of 1,000 rooms in Ipoh in view of Visit Perak Year 2024 and the growing popularity of Ipoh City as a tourism destination.
This shows the confidence of investors in Ipoh to invest and unleash the full tourism potential of the “City which Tin Built”.
