In their efforts to ensure a clean and green serenity of Ipoh city, the Ipoh City Council procured several new vehicles and equipment to meet these challenges.
On hand to launch the vehicles was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin accompanied by the MBI councillors.
“As the city continues to grow, they are more challenges and demands to be met. The expectation of the residents have also grown,” said Rumaizi.
He also added that more housing areas and other businesses have also seen a vast growth.
“A total of RM12 million has been invested to purchase around 57 vehicles. We have invested in these new equipment to meet the expectations. Among them are the rubbish trucks, (Compactor), Arm Roro lorry, Backhoe, Skylift, Forklift, Hilux, Water Jetter Pressure, Crew Cab, passenger boats and tanker lorries.
“Out of the 57 units, we have received 39 unit of the machinery. They will help keep Ipoh clean and green. the passenger boats will be utilised at the Taman Rekreasi Gunung Lang in view of the expected increase of visitors,” added Rumaizi.
He also added that the council has recruited some 105 new personnel to meet the challenges.
