The victims of the recent typhoon-like phenomenon in Kampung Tawas and Tasek here received assistance from the Ipoh City Council, State Agriculture Development Corporation and State Agriculture Department.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) project was led by Ipoh Mayor, Dato Rumaizi Baharin, SADC representatives and State Agricultural Department.
They provided fruit and coconut seedlings to the victims at Taman Tasek Damai earlier today.
The Ipoh City Council will approve the “community farming” in the area for the benefit of the residents there. They will also assist in all of the applications to this regard.
SADC will provide input on the necessary framing guidelines and assistance. They also provided seedlings for fruit trees like papaya, bananas, jackfruit and cempadak.
Meanwhile, the State Agriculture Department provided 40 coconut seedlings and nutripot for the residents.
Through this CSR project, it is hoped that the 30 odd residents who were affected can return their lives to normalcy as recommended by Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamad through the “Our Farm Campaign”.
