The Ipoh City Council added another feather to it’s cap when they were declared the winner for one of the categories in the  Malaysian Association of Local Authorities (MALA) 2.0 Innovation Competition for the Housing and Local Government Minister Trophy 2024-2025 during MALA’s Aidilfitri dinner at  Dewan Kenanga, Menara Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bharu recently.

The council’s Fin@Syariah (Sistem Pengurusan Kewangan Patuh Syariah) grabbed the attention of the judges.

The award also came with a  RM1.2 million BP1 grant, cash of RM4,000,  trophy and participation certificate.

The innovation was developed to focus on financial management to process and separate income and classify non syariah compliance business activities, together generating reports via automation .

The award was presented by Klang Royal City Council Mayor Datuk Abd. Hamid Hussain who is also the President of MALA to Ipoh City Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and the council’s finance director Mohd Syazlan Mohd Isa Suffian.

The council also took another award after they were placed in ninth position in the SPLiT (Sistem Pengurusan Lalulintas Pintar -Smart Traffic Management System) innovation category.

They also received a BP1 RM35,000 grant, cash of RM500, trophy and participation certificate.

The competition saw the participation of 67 innovation projects displayed by local authorities to enhance an efficient service.

The council’s management recorded it’s appreciation to all those involved to enable it to win the awards.

It is hoped that the awards will  help the council to realise the vision and attain the status of Ipoh Smart and Prosperous City 2030.
