Residents of Rumah Pangsa Harmoni, Buntong here finally can breathe a sigh of relief as the Ipoh City Council will carry out various repair and maintenance work soon.

This is following a town hall session with the Ipoh City Council over the weekend.

The council in a media statement stated that an allocation of RM1.3 million had been received by the  council from the Housing and Local Government Ministry under the Housing and Maintenance Program.

The residents had lodged several complaints to the council among them about damaged ceilings which are infested with pigeons and other public facilities.

On May 11, A total 137 residents  had an opportunity to voice out their grievances directly to the council, and its officers at a town hall session.

Also present were Buntong Assemblywoman Thulsi Thivani Manogaran, councillors Lawrence Palanisamy, K.Sivam and local representatives.

The session was organised by the council’s Facility Management Department. The various work will be carried out at Blocks 1 to 10 and Blocks 21 to 26.

The allocation will also be utilised to upgrade corridor lights, wiring, the sub system and other related works in the flats area.

The session also provided clarity to the residents on the projects to be implemented.

The upgrading work will give a facelift and improve safety, comfort, cleanliness in the area and also enhance the city’s image overall.
