Ipoh City Council’s (MBI) Parks and Landscape Department organised a Building Evacuation Drill with the cooperation of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department at Gunung Lang Recreational Park on May 19.

A total of 50 MBI staff participated in the drill with the objective to expose and train them on action to be taken in case of emergencies or disasters.

During the drill, two fire stimulations were held including rescuing victims trapped in burning buildings and briefing on putting off fire by staff of the Parks and Landscape Department with monitoring by the Fire and Rescue Department personnel.

This is to ensure that the staff are well prepared and be alert of  emergency warnings.

They should be able to take immediate action if there is a case of a fire.

The training is also aimed at ensuring the fire safety units are ready to act swiftly to evacuate employees from buildings.

The drill which started at 10.30am was completed at 11.15am.
