The launch of the official Action Plan of the Ipoh Doughnut Economics: City Portrait in Action was officiated by Ipoh City Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah at KLCC Convention Centre recently.
The launch marks an important achievement to transform Ipoh City as developed, well being and competitive which is based on the Doughnut Economics concept centres which balances meeting human needs, social, maintaining preservation environment and economic prosperity.
According to the Mayor, the Action Plan is not a mere document but a concrete road map to develop the city based on a sustainable concept without sacrificing the well being of the community and planet.
He also commended Sunway Centre for Planetary Health as the key knowledge partner, Institut Darul Ridzuan as the think tank ,Yayasan Hasanah for their support on the initiative and other strategic partners to achieve the vision.
Later Zamakhshari and other guests visited the Ipoh Doughnut Economic City booth.
Ipoh Doughnut Economic City has been recognised as the Pioneer Project No:15 under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan.
Also present were Orang Besar Enam Belas Perak Datuk Ishak Mohamed, Ipoh City Councillor Muhammad Hamzah Md Hamdan, councillors,heads of departments, council officers and representatives of the strategic partners.
