Passengers arriving at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here received a grand welcome in conjunction with Hari Raya celebrations held in line with Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.
Some 315 passengers on Scoot Air (Singapore ) and Air Asia (Johore Domestic) were welcomed by tourism industry players and strategic partners.
They also received goodies, festive souvenirs and delicacies.
The atmosphere was further enlivened by Aidilfitri-themed Malay cultural performances while the VM2026 mascots, Wira and Manja made special appearances to delight visitors.
The event was organised through a strategic collaboration with various stakeholders. The purpose of the event is to strengthen cooperation between the government and the tourism industry in promoting Perak as a leading tourism destination as well as to support the development of the state’s economy.
Meanwhile Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board Senior Director Domestics and Events Division Mohd Roslan Abdullah who officiated the event said:” Ipoh are among nine airports in the country selected as they are entry points for visitors.
“Tourists who land the airports will be able to experience the unique culture of the country immediately,”he added.
The event is held simultaneously at the airports throughout the country.
