A total of 20 couples who have been already married for a long time attended an event known as SMARTSTART 2nd honeymoon in Taiping on March 29 and 30.
Organised by the Perak (Ipoh) Indian Welfare and Cultural Association is aimed at to rekindle couples’ love and strengthen the family institution through sharing skills and knowledge.
It is also related to resolving work related conflicts and enhancing emotions between husband and wife.
It was implemented by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) through their special assistance allocation.
This is an initiative to support NGOs to jointly carry out family development programmes to meet the Women, Family and Community Development target s.
The two day programme was conducted by LPPKN Perak psychology officer Logarani Mathivanan.
Women were provided with early cervical cancer screening and mammogram test subsidy registration.
National Population and Family Development Board Perak Director Chai Cheng Ho in his opening speech commended the participants for their dedication and commitment in all the activities.
He hope the participants could sail the ship of marriage as husband and wife which is full of waves of challenges.
Cheng Ho also presented couples with certificates of participation. Several representatives from NGOs also attended the event.
