Ipoh’s night market traders popularly known as “Gerbang Malam ” livelihood has been badly affected due to the MCO currently in place.
The location was among the attractions for locals and visitors to the city to buy some bargain goods like clothes, trinkets, snacks and other materials.
With no income for the past several months, the Ipoh City Council along with the support of Boba Tea Sdn Bhd handed over some provisions to some 125 operators at this night market.
On hand was Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin with the general manager of Boba Tea Choong Jun Meng.
The packets contained dried food and other basic necessities.
The CSR presented was handed over to the representative from the night market, Ahmad Hirwan Othman and four committee members.
Meanwhile at the same ceremony, 30 food packets were also presented to DBI workers who have been affected due to the MCO restrictions.
“We hope that the provisions will help alleviate the current situation for the recipients,” said Rumaizi.
