With the current Visit Perak Year 2024 underway, nature lovers will have an opportunity to witness and enjoy the wonders amidst a greenery setting at Tasik Cermin 2 here.
The new tourist attraction was officially opened by Tourism, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan recently.
This will complement the existing Tasik Cermin which offers hidden treasures and attractions.
The once abandoned quarry is being developed and transformed into an eco adventure spot.
This is a collaboration between Majuperak Holdings Berhad (MHB) and Sabah Tea Garden (STG).
MHB’s CEO Syed Agil Syed Hashim said:”The new attraction will give the opportunity for visitors to explore the lake which is only accessible in a boat ride through a 100 metres tunnel.
“The low carbon battery powered boats are in line with the state government’s concept of sustainable environment,” he added.
Syed Agil also noted since the opening of Tasik Cermin an average of 45,000 people have visited the attraction with the figure going up to 75,000 in December 2023, which prompted the continuous commitment to develop the area and Tasik Cermin 2.
Khairul Firdaus said Perak has a lot of tourist attractions and the state government is implementing strategic planning to make it a premier destination.
Also present was State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee and other officials.
