In an effort to forge a better relationship between the Ipoh City Council and the Penang State Secretariat, a series of sporting activities were held in Ipoh recently.
On hand was Ipoh Mayor, Dato Rumaizi Baharin along with Dato Dr. Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus who is the state secretary of Penang.
Also present was the deputy state secretary (management), Ahmad Rizal Mohd Hanapiah, Dato’ Mohd Zakuan Zakaria, Penang state director for Islamic Affairs, Saidatul Akma Jamaluddin, senior state financial director.
Among the sporting events which were held were badminton and soccer at the YMCA Ipoh Hall and the Perak Stadium respectively.
While the Penang state secretariat excelled in badminton, the Ipoh City Council were victorious in soccer.
At the end of the event, members of both parties achieved mutual bonding and understanding.
