A delegation from Fukuoka, Japan made a courtesy call on Ipoh City Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin recently.
The delegation was led by Mr Akira Takaki, who is the Unit Head of International Affairs for Fukuoka City.
Also present was Mr. Shingo Kitamura and Ms. Chie Arai in the delegation.
The group also participated in the Visit Ipoh Yearc2023 activities.
It is hoped that the visit will strengthen bilateral relationship between the two cities and foster goodwill in view of the Visit Perak Year 2024 and Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Ipoh and Fukuoka city has a sister city arrangement. The sister city programme between Ipoh and Fukuoka started on March 21, 1989, by then Ipoh mayor Datuk Umar Abu and former Fukuoka mayor Keiichi Kuwahara.
