Perak hopes to achieve herd immunity by October.

“We expect 80% of the population in the state will be vaccinated by this date.

“By November, we will reach full vaccination status. However, all this depends on vaccination supply,” said Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamed at the state assembly.

In the meantime, the state government of Perak is looking at proposals to establish 12 more vaccination centres (PPV).

“For those in interior areas, vaccinations have been performed via outreach programmes which target Orang Asli communities and residents under Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) and Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA).

“The programme is operated by mobile PPV teams which involve staff of the State Health Department, among others,” added Saarani.
