In conjunction with the 38th anniversary of Ipoh City celebrations,the Malaysia Heritage Run 2026 was held in the city.  

The event was flagged off by Ipoh Mayor Tuan Zamakhshari Hanipah at the Padang Ipoh.

The program, which began as early as 7am, received an encouraging response from the public, with participants taking part in the 7-kilometer and 5-kilometer race categories.

The organization of this run is one of the initiatives by the Ipoh City Council to enliven the celebration of Ipoh City’s 38th anniversary, while also promoting healthy lifestyle practices among Ipoh residents and the local community.

Participants from various age groups demonstrated strong sportsmanship and enthusiastic support for this heritage- and community-themed event.

The event atmosphere was further enhanced by a variety of engaging activities, including a lucky draw, entertainment performances, and cultural showcases.

The highlight of the program was the prize presentation ceremony for the Best Costume Competition, which attracted significant attention from attendees. The prizes were presented by Mr. Zamakhshari bin Hanipah, Mayor of Ipoh.

It is hoped that the Malaysia Heritage Run 2026 will continue to strengthen community spirit and togetherness, promote Ipoh as an active, harmonious, and prosperous city, and preserve heritage values as a proud part of the city’s identity
