The Ipoh City Council has allocated some RM240 million for the year 2022.
However, Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin disclosed that the estimated revenue to be obtained next year is RM221 million.
“The estimated revenue is an increase of RM1 million compared to 2021. Revenue from taxes is expected to increase by RM2.3 million or 1.5 percent for 2022,” said the mayor at the MBI 2022 Budget presentation session.
Meanwhile, the council will explore several new revenues to cover the estimated revenue decline for 2022.
He also explained that the 2022 Budget, themed ‘Economic Recovery for Urban Wellbeing’, was distributed according to the priorities of several sectors, namely urban services, infrastructure, as well as public and social facilities and council management.
