In keeping with their caring corporate citizen initiative, the Ipoh City Council collaborating with their generous partner, Econsave paid a visit to an ex-employee of the Ipoh City Council in Parit, Perak.
Zahari Mohamad Noh, 58, was struck by a stroke and also ailing from kidney and liver problems.
Ipoh Mayor, Dato Rumaizi Baharin was represented by the council’s corporate communications manager Syahrizal Azmi along with the state assemblyman for Belanja, Khairudin Abu Hanipah and Econsave Jelapang manager Shah Effendy Rosman for the visit.
They handed over a new bed, groceries and a token amount of cash to the wife of Zahari.
Khairudin also presented a wheelchair to the family for convenience of moving around.
“We hope that our contribution will help and ease the family’s burden and medical expenses,” said Syahrizal.
He also added that the initiative is part of Ipoh City Council’s CSR programmes since the start of the MCO.
“The Ipoh City Council has invested RM1 million towards this cause. It has helped local residents, businesses and ex-employees of the council who were impacted by the pandemic.
“Most of the funds were undertaken by the Ipoh City Council working with corporate sponsors like Econsave and other partners,” added Syahrizal.
