The Ipoh City Council ‘s 24-man strong delegation made an official visit to the Hatyai City Municipality in Thailand recently.
They were led by council secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and his team.
They were received by telah Hatyai City Municipality deputy mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichai Kanchanasuwon, Mr Sumrit Boonrat, Mr Armad Ben-arlee and other heads of departments.
The MBI delegation also viewed a slide presentation on the smart initiatives and future plans for the City.
Some of the plans coincide with the Ipoh City Council’s low carbon city 2030 and smart initiatives too.
The three- day visit also included potential for good practices, economic cooperation, commerce, health, sports and cross border tourism.
The delegation were also hosted to a fine lunch at Yannaty Hotel followed by a visit to Chivasuk Health Promotion Centre in Hatyai.
The centre promotes traditional healing and nutrition.
The visitors also took in the sights and sceneries from the Hatyai View Point and visited the Central Mosque of Songkhla Province which is also known as the Taj Mahal of Songkhla which is a centre for Islamic learning.
The working visit is aimed at promoting more two-way cooperation and ties.
