This year’s Ipoh City Council’s Hari Raya Open House on Thursday at Indera Mulia Stadium saw a foreign delegation attending the event and enjoying the delicacies and witnessing dances and performances.
The visitors were led by the Tourism Promotion Organisation (TPO) Secretary General, Ambassador Woo Young-ha.
Others in the delegation were staff from the TPO Secretariat Busan, South Korea and delegates from Busan Metropolitan City, Sanya, China, Ho Chi Minh City. Jeonju, Korea, Yantai and Guangzhou, China.
Representatives of member cities of TPO including from Taiping, Kampar, Kuala Kangsar, Kuantan, Kota Baru and Alor Setar were also present.
A TPO delegation had earlier arrived in the city to present the joint tourism promotion at a hotel in Ipoh.
Datuk Bandar Ipoh Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @Md Daud in his speech hope the TPO network that has been established since 2020 will further enhance and strengthen the friendship and efforts to boost the tourism sector in the Asia Pacific Region.
He also commended the council’s officers and staff for their commitment and dedication in their tasks which had helped the council to excel.
Some 6,000 council staff, family members and guests were entertained by Gema Warisan Budaya MBI.
While savouring the food, the council staff went home with prizes won in the lucky draw.
