The Bentong Town Council president, Dato’ Aida Munira Abdul Rafar conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the Ipoh City Council team for their efforts to clean up the town following the massive floods.
She presented a plaque to the team which consisted of 45 members who also cleared the mud, rubbish and handed out food to those affected.
They were headed by Mohamed Khairi Zaidi and Mohd Zaki Nahrawi from the Enforcement Unit.
Aida also thanked Ipoh Mayor and all of the staff of Ipoh City Council for dispatching the team.
The relief team was one of the earliest to arrive in Bentong, Pahang.
The team was sent on the directive of Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamed to help Pahang and Selangor.
The relief team was in Bentong from Dec 23 till Dec 28, 2021. They had brought along trucks, “water jetter” and a backhoe.
The mission will surely help to foster better and stronger relationships between the councils and respective states.
